KaWhammo!!!

Ka-Whammo! The roof shingles are officially done. As you can see in the second picture, I started some fraying on the hole in the roof. Its kind of hard to see since the wood and the shingles are the same tone. I haven't mapped that object, so hopefully mapping will help create some contrast.
I see your point about the metal sheet. Its as if its just thrown in there for the hell of it and theres no support. Judgement call...I dont mind taking it out and replacing it with a small hole or worn out area. its also intersecting in this pic...no big deal, i'll shift it up.

im hiding alot of elements in these renders to save help things render faster in case things look empty to you.

hey man, congrats on the shingle finish. the look great, i like the grime and greeny moss stuff. i really like how they get darker near the top of the roof and all.

the frayed wood looks great man, really nice job.

as for the metal, the thing that bothers me about it now is that its symetrical to the hole u made, it would be odd that damage would happen on both side like that.

i say either
-remove the metal completly
-bend it to the shape of the roof, as if they nailed it around the hole
-patch of the roof there and on the opposite side remove some shingles, leaving the wood exposed. dont make a hole, rather make it look like the shingles fell off and slid to the ground (make a little pile)

I say remove the sucker, the roof is getting a bit too detailed already and taking away attention away from the rest of the model.
some guys here were sayin to remove it too and maybe just break away a few tiles here and there. but the symetrycal holes will look odd.

also the hole in the roof is getting a bit too much attention when u look at the model from far away. u might wanna look into putting more wood under the hole in the future. once everything is done. the black hole that u see is a bit too noticable.

all in all this looks killer man. i say break a few tiles off and leave it be, its just a roof anyways.
