Daisy is hotter than Princess Peach

no major post....but heres the plan, to turn the following design into a skinny-ish wrought iron post. If you notice my older posts, the wood that separates the canvas and the vertical planks extends to the posts. Under the new design, it will just span the perimiter of the wagon...and I will include a wrought iron railing to enclose the area in front of the wagon.

Should feel alot lighter, should make a little more sense.

I'm a social drinker....

I didnt like yesterdays wood, so I added a 'worn out' layer. You can see that I also updated the small vertical planks under the canvas.

This is some great progress, but the unvisited posts really are killing me...I need to take a moment to sit down to think about what im gonna do with them. In the meanwhile im gonna update the wood around the rest of the wagon....getting closer

Whats left to do:

-Roof shingles,
-back window
-wheels
-posts

-lanterns

revised floorwood

Word up, here's a sample of what I want to do with the floorboard wood. little moss...little dirt....the dirt hasnt been mapped completely at the wagons sides...which is why you're seeing nothing but brown...but the the front wood is more or less done.

your thoughts?

Here you can notice what im doing with the splintering of edges....all the wood is done...I just need to map them and its off to the races.

While mucking about the internet I came across an image with a bg quality that I think I can achieve. Theres a real simplicity to the modeling of the above image...and all the details are in the shaders/texture....it makes me think about my next model.

This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius!!!!

Hey man,

nothing epic here...just fiddling with the longhorns.....color map seems to be in order, the bump map needs to be beefed up to suggest splints in the bone. oh yeah....and take care of the canvas stretchys

simple stuff, just wanted to post something as opposed to appearing idle

Playstation, I love you.

Okay, so let me explain whats different.

- The gold fluer de lis design has been beveled (chamfered), dirtied and sunk back a bit.

-I'm currently working on fraying the edges of the wood on the floorboards. I'm modeling the frays instead of appying a bump and hoping for the best. This may be time consuming, but I can use this frayed wood for the short wood walls of the wagon that lead into the canvas. In the meantime don't worry about the extreme bump on on the floorboards...thats just a product of modeling something after you've mapped it....the uv's explode like your anus after eating too many jalepenos in a greasespoon diner in tijuanna.

-The decorative posts on the front of the wagon (with the tiny fluer de lis) are holding the model back..they're on the unfinished side..and they're on the too perfect side. I should take the far right post and treat it like its been shattered by a tiny wrecking ball.

Should look wicked with this type of HDRI lighting

No Major Updates Today

No significant update today, I was just working on the wood holding up the lanterns last night. I reused the wood shaders and maps from other objects. Insignificant progress, so im not going to bother posting.

however. I encourage you to use this time to go to the vending machine and grab a snickers. They're delicious.

adios!

It's not all banana's and dancing with toothbrushes!!!

not a whole lot new, just had time to muck up the rose decoration frame. You can pass on leaving a comment today if you feel that I just need to keep going.

Do you Schmaltz?

Hey Chief, Happy Monday.

So what you're seeing here is the front facade nearly complete...All the wood holding up the frame is done, so by all means, critique that. The wood thats holding up that lanterns havent been touched yet. Critique anything else you have in mind too. I'll be fixing the vases just to let you know...and i'll be throwing some rope on them, so pay no mind to them. I think at this point its more of a 'keep going' kinda thing.

cheers buddy

on an arrogant note.....note the pillar of wood holding up the structure stage right. I really dig the damage I did to it near the top.

La Baguette, now with 10% more Bagu

You don't really need to crit this, all I did was texture the 'La Baguette' but if you think that can be improved upon...no worries. I'll give you a break today from all the great crits of this week.
Thanks!

B'YAW!!!!!

Okay...its still not done, but good things are happening. First off, I like the rez on the base texture of the metal. I kinda like the shader too.

The rust will be good if its a hint lighter, and its gonna need some rust flakes.

The dent on stage left directly under the exhaust/flag is a bit cheesy...needs to look a tad more natural.

thinking of dirt...I think im just gonna go with some standard greenish/brown grime.

But all and all...I dont think im gonna deviate far from what you see here....I dont know about you, but I really like that base metal texture.

Either it'll move you, or it will move right through you. Fully and completely.

Tried toning down the metal part a little. You're right, it does look better...but theres still something off.

-Maybe the rez is to low?
-Maybe the mesh is too perfect?

F--k a door; One crispy banana

Okay, Some work done to the front here.I've decided to take your advice here and take out the canvas patches and simplified the canvas walls. I just made it look like a stretched canvas. There are some obvious errors here, like the wood having some texture stretching...im not worried about that quite yet.

Im trying to think about how I can wear down that top wrought iron/metal piece. I think there would be 4 layers to something like that.

- The Painted Layer
- A worn out smoothed paint layer
- A silvery/reflective layer (the metal before it was painted)
- The rust layer

Either way, its probably a good idea to bend up the mesh a little on that black metal part...it looks too perfect and theres no way they would have the tools to make such a perfect mold.

One last thing, the wood on the frame needs to be worn down at the edges....if the wood is a chesnut brown, then i'd make it a lighter brown at the edges.

Thats it for now. Wanna be a poppa? You can beat a mom.....ANGOLA!!!!

Happy new year

Progress....movement.

You can see that there has been some progress. Right now im concentrating on the wagon canvas. Im afraid its looking a bit forced. I think im trying to use the bump map to solve all my modeling problems, but I think im gonna have to go back and model some canvas patches.

There is a reason why im continuously giving you this angle, its because texture resolution isnt 100% up to par. But theres alot of improvement here, what are your thoughts? I think that the model isnt banged up enough.
